Supported Independent Living

Is it one of your goals to move out of the family home? Would you like to be more independent in your own home? Supported Independent Living can help you get there.

Supported Independent Living is devised to give people with a disability a place they can call home while getting the supports they need to live a full life.

It is designed to help a person with a disability live independently as possible in a shared living arrangement.

The NDIS indicates that SIL is “best suited for participants who have high support needs and require a significant amount of assistance throughout the day.” It may be ideal for you to require significant person-to-person support (Individual Support) to live independently.

Short Term Accommodation and Assistance/Respite

You may require short term overnight accommodation for a range of reasons such as:

  • Your usual caregiver is away or needs a break.
  • You have a variable condition that occasionally requires additional overnight support.
  • Emergency care when the regular carer becomes unavailable at short notice.

At Truworth Care, we provide that continuity of support you need.
